A light above

 Oh I know not
If the skies listen
Or even hear
My dear, my dear
Trust in the spirits
They'll deliver your messages to me
I do not believe
I haven't in years
I've lost all that I once knew
A darkened, stricken ray
Turning the light above askew
I am blind
I cannot see
I am shackled
I'm not free
My shackles lie deep
Their foundation within my heartstrings
If I try to move
I tug on them
If I try to break
I'll tear them apart
Is it protection
That my armour provides
Or is it a prison
In which I reside
I once believed in a force oh so mighty
Now I can't see the light above
I once believed I could never love
Yet within me, a fire burns bright
That guides my blind eyes
Away from the rays of sunlight
Into a direction
Distinction unseen
Just like my will to be
But I will set my soul ablaze
If that's truly what it takes
I'll do it
I'll do even more
I'll sacrifice all that I can to make sure
That my messages reach the skies above
I 'll break myself apart
And build myself anew
If only the spirits will carry
My words to you
Your light
She's seen it before, you know
She's fallen in love with it
Just like I once did
But I'm blind
Or am I?
In denial, for many years I've lived
It's not I that can't see
It's not my eyes that aren't free
It's your light that's been gone for years
I miss you
I miss your presence
I wish I could feel you near
