Blue moon

 Blue moon floating in the
Sky as the horizon lights
Up beyond the sight of
Plebeian blind folk gazing
Only at their matters that
Which in the grand scheme
Of things matters not
In the eyes of a child
Born within those years
You'll be hardpressed to find
Defined within them anything more
Than fear
Clubs and swords are used to wage
War upon those they deem
Unrighteous or villainous to the code
In which they believe
Live or die is deemed worthy
By those who hold the sword
The club is used to break the bones
Of those whom they dictate should not
Under darkened skies does the red moon rise
When the sun gazes away from our designs
The worst of the monsters within us climb
Up to the peak of our souls they
Seek to claim us whole
Those of us who are lost
To them are the worst among us all
Fight or flight take risks or
Play safe never one true thought
Answers found when steps are
Taken from within the resolve
Find me flying near the blue moon every
Night it shows
Find you staring at your worries
That which matters naught
Under the skies so bright I see
Those who within the sunlight
Deign to be set free
They fear the freedom so they
Walk within the masses
Their houses are so barren
Broken like shattered glasses
They see the world broken in pieces
Like their parents did
We know not to raise our kids
Better than ourselves
We try and try and give the world
To those who matter most
But our little worries and shortsightedness
Will cost us more
Than we're ready to pay for
The damage we do, do
The world is not going to stop
Just because we do
Movement marching motion
Mandatory existence within the sharpest notions
Stagnate as you must
Find yourself within the walls stuck
Walk the line till you cannot balance anymore
I blame the parents not
Nor do I the kids
For rebelling against them
The natural order of things
Is for the parents to wither and the kids to outlive
Replace the old with the new
Our Earth only grows when you do
Find the light within your soul
To overcome the red and blue
Find the fire to combat the calm
Find the quiet to quiet the mourn
Survive till you can't no more
Survive till you see the morn
Under sun-lit skies you'll find me
Nowhere to be seen
Beyond horizons in the darkest caves
I'll be lurking
Dancing alone when the star-lit sky
Shines upon as all
Run away and hide from trouble
Is not me anymore
I live to see what others live through
I will try to float
Over the ferry which I row in and
Out day in day out
I will invite you to partake in that
Which I own
Trauma and storms are no strangers
They're friends from an old past
If they haunt you come to me
I'll shake their hands
They'll learn to co-exist with you
Or you'll earn those stripes yourself
All I do is guide those on the river
To the paths on which they serve
Best use to themselves within
Walk the lines till you cannot balance anymore
Find it within your soul to combat
The blue and red, evermore
Never move an inch you don't
With agree
Never listen to harsh words from those
Whose advice you'd never seek
Find me floating aimlessly within
The reflective surfaces of the sea
I have many friends out there
And all of them are me
