Not today

 Within my eyes
Lies deep
An unspoken truth
Begin, my child
The lies will speak
Without clues
Or facts
Or anything really
That's considered proof
It's you against me
Your words versus mine
So look me deep
Within my eyes
And tell me what you believe

Could manifest a way
For you out of this fray

So it is your mistake if they betray

It wasn't I who was so attached to my mother
Or my friend
It wasn't I who was so ready to murder
Myself
It was you who made those choices
And it was up to me to put a stop
It was us who you sought to end
But it was I who was almost dropped
It wasn't my mistake back then
It was entirely your fault
Yet we're together till the end
So don't make me yell nay
Let it be today
That you put down your arms
