 I've lost
So much
In hopes of finding you
My love
My one and only
My phantom
The one that only comes
Once in a million
If only you were true
A tangible person I could feel
Or touch
If only you my love were real
I'd never let out of
My clutch
If only I could trust me
I'd let myself drown in your eyes
Drown forever, all day and all night
Listen closely to the calm of the night
Allow me to be
A floating specter within you
A person who could only explore
If only you were true
I had hopes
Years and years in the past
Of being yours one day
And yet
That day doesn't seem to want to come
It feels like that day wouldn't last
Arrive, and go
One fast swift deal and it's done
Leaving me feeling crass
Nostalgic
For the feeling I had
Wishing I knew how to keep it going
But sadly
There's no real way of knowing
So I will keep on
Imagining
Myself with you my dear, in your arms
If only you were true, my loved one
We'd never drift apart
