Falling
I was falling down
Into an endless pit
I kept going
Into the darkness
Until I saw
At the edge of my eye
A hand poking out, begging
For help
So I reached out while falling
And grasped onto it
I held so tight and I stopped falling
The hand yelped in pain
I almost let go in surprise
I felt so bad at the time
I immediately apologized
The hand's owner was a simple girl
Well, she was anything but simple, that one
Her eyes were soft and her heart did yearn
It was clear she had lost someone
Little did I know she had lost herself
And in helping others, I've always found me
But what I didn't expect was finding her
I couldn't expect that she'd set me free
Through walking with her, she paid me back
And she did so in kind
For oh, my dearest me
She was so kind
So sweet and so soft
So gentle and so tender
Yet she was fierce at heart
With a fire dying into embers
Inside her I saw oceans
I saw the sky above
She immediately lit up the darkness
When she smiled up
And looked back at me
Her eyes full of sorrow
And yet, full of glee
I wished from that moment
To forever make her happy
I wasn't in love
Nor was I head over heels
I just thought
That she was oh so pretty
Her beauty was something to be seen
And I'm not talking about the general beauty
I'm talking about her soul
I'm talking about her purity
I'm talking about how she loves to give love to all
As if it were her duty
She was so full of life
And life had let her down
Her heart was full of regret
Her world kept spinning round and round
She held my hand and stopped my fall
And I held hers and brought her out
In the darkness we both faced
We became each other's light
She became my closest friend
I was hers then, and she was mine
She's my muse and inspiration
She's my dearest one to date
I love her with all my heart
For no one is that great
No one is that good either
No one could really ever be
For I was falling down to my end
And in trying to save her, she instead
Saved me
