Adagio
I stare at the clock
The time moves slow
Tick by tick, it goes
Motions me to move forwards
As to allow it to flow
A spell is spoken
A word of power said
Adagio!
The slow motion extends
Attach you
To a motionless expanse
But at what expense
A man refuses to move
Is a man stagnant, with time
A man moving oh so slowly
Is a man nearly divine
A man by the spell behooved
Is a man who was never fine
The slow time motion left them confused
And they called it a crime
Playing by your own rules
Refusing to adapt to their choices and wishes
Choosing to believe in your own truths
Their choice to ignore their desires is what blisses
Their lives and makes them ignorant to the world
Makes them believe they're above it all
Makes them accept the stagnation of living that life
Every day is the same, ripe with strife
Refusal to move forwards, to have something to strive
For they are nothing but dummies hanging from the strings
Moved by the desires of everybody else
Each one of them believes they're at the top
But when you speak, Adagio!
They all fall like dominos
And realize all of their lives are just props
Placed there by their own hands
Refusing to believe what they see before their eyes
Refusing to choose to finally understand
When they accept their daily work
Their workload will never shift
When their desires are promotions
Then nothing of their young soul is left
When what excites them are games of sports
Or movies or simple one-time events
When their knowledge and choices of words
Becomes so simple, it's a wonder it doesn't end
Like robots and machines they never grow
They're not even like AI, they don't learn
When they grew up, and became old
Their age was nothing but a number, their soul...
Their soul is what defined their end
They'll die a peaceful death
On a simple deathbed
And wonder where all the times have went
When you speak Adagio!
When the world falls to your consent
When you choose what to do with your time
When you choose to walk ever so slowly at a time
Each second means a lot
Each moment is a memory
So I implore you, my dearest one
Remember my words in every step
And remember me
