Symphony
I listen to the wind
The tide that it brings
With my sailboat on the seas
Exploring to see
How far I can go
What will I know
What's beyond the veil
What's far over there
Exploring the sea
Of myself
Listening to the symphony
No need for help
The skies darken now
The storms are conjured
Hide under deck
Until it passes along
Perhaps it'll pass
Perhaps it'll turn my boat
I don't know
For I am alone
And I know that I will
Whether the storm
Under the sunless sky
I sail
With the clouds blinding my
Starlit trails
North or south, I don't know
All I know is that I'll go
Somewhere
I listen close to the sounds
Coming along the windy nights
The symphonies produced around
Impossible to spot by sight
Yet if you listen
And listen close
Your ears will catch
A glimpse of it all
When the skies descend
And lightning does fall
We hide inside
Our tiny wooden boats
Hoping that the storm will move away
Hoping that the wind would direct us home
Hoping that the skies will give way
Hoping that we will survive the storm
And in the end of every storm there
You find the sunlight
It's as if we wouldn't appreciate the sun
Without the rainy nights
But here we go, sailing
Each on their own
Flailing
Helplessly during our nightmares
Hoping to awaken and not be there
Be as far away from that dark place
Find warmth near a fireplace
Burn wooden planks from our own boats
Pluck out every sail to try and keep warm
Blacked out by the sails halfway drunk
On coping mechanisms
Trying our best, hoping to survive
Waving at each other from each side
For each of us is alone, but the sea is wide
And we're bound to run into one another
So promise me make it out alive
So we can greet each other
When we reach the shore
Drink on a beach
Bathe in the sunlight
Know no defeats
Relish in our victory
Having found ourselves
In the endless sea
