Rain

As the clouds circle above me
I wonder when the skies would rain
As the shades start to engulf me
I wonder if I had missed my train
For the skies are now full of water
Ripe, and ready to bloom
Explode into a storm of violence
Which somehow sounds like music too
Let them play their thunderous orchestras
Let the skies clap their hands for the performance
For the actors in this weather are crying
And none of us have any clue
As to why the sky cries
As to why people die
As to why they promise not to leave
Lie to us, and we would believe
As to why we give second chances
As to why we go so deep
As to why our souls are tainted
By decisions of their pasts
As to why out future's hazy
Can't tell if it's a field of grass
Or a long, ominous train track
As to why our fields get watered
Even when we don't ask
As to why the skies come along
With clouds and rain
As to why we find beauty
Buried within the pain
The feelings we get, get repetitive
Making us feel that we're insane
As to why we twist the narrative
In order to increase our gains
So I say to the sky
Explode with all of your might
Put out the forest fires
And start others if you might
Prepare yourself to blow us away
And we will accept it and be swayed
For you are nothing but a witness to our play
And our roles are all combined
So give us the applause, my dear skies
And let it rain
Drop the droplets down upon us
Let our suffering wash away
Cleanse us from our trauma
For maybe the world comes to an end today
And we will be accepting
For we can't do anything to change
But your actions might be helpful
Set us on our own pace
This is the right time and place
So skies, rain away!
