Growing hope

Growing up He was alone In a large family Often mesmerized By the starlight Gazing Foreboding himself From dreaming big Floating Restoring hope His only escape His toys and games The weekly magazine The friends in school Barely 13 Scared and confused Growing hope In the back garden of his mind Watering hope Staying for extended periods inside Leaving his room Is simply forbidden Completely consumed By everything that's missing If it weren't for the garden His siblings too His guardians He wouldn't be breathing now Floating up above us all Soaring like a cloud Rotten hope Carrying his small dreams A country collapsing A figurative fire Consuming everything He shall never be weak again Forbidden from repeating mistakes Wasting time As if he has any to spare His only crime Giving into despair Throwing hope At those who come knocking His door always open "Come inside everyone Let me help Let me repair that which is broken" Fixing all their problems No matter if they...

Blue stream

I follow the stream And swim along the sea Tearing at the seams Within me, a scream And I know Oh I know Everything Happens for a reason A great grandiose scheme Written in The papers that describe Our lives Speaking truth Within the lies A broken voice Serving as a useless device Praying to the skies To The Divine Asking his forgiveness Asking his permission Asking him to overlook All of my transgressions Following my blue stream In the darkest hours I see A small little lively dream Dancing up and down Left and right North and South East and West Going around in circles Circling me And I can never grasp it Hold it Understand it Only behold it A gleam of hope A little shimmer of light Floating around me My only reason to smile I see it there In my future Beckoning me ahead If I work and work Really hard for it Grasp it I shall Hold it dear and near Take along the journey with me On our newly blue stream Smile at one another Because of one another In the presence of each other We a...

The dead want naught

Take some Of my inner peace A small sum That adds up to nothing Dried up of tears Over those who died Years ago Broken, and numb A line you won't cross Tell me, what's it worth? Letting go Walking on Moving forwards Moving on Is it worth all the memories That you can barely recall Or is it worth the melodies That you don't play at all All the disappointment That lives free of rent Camped up, squatting Deep inside your head The dead want naught They ask for nothing The dead want naught Souls that left their bodies Floating across The endless expanse Laying beyond What we call "space" Unconstrained by time Unchained by years Their youth is irrelevant They need not shed tears So move on Let go of their expectations Your path is not Someone else's destination Infectious laughter Is always emanating From those most in disaster Alone when ruminating Harken for the call But summon thyself not Listen for their souls And make up your mind on your own The dead want na...

Rain

The rain of hatred and contempt Drains, yet feeds every soul The waves moving rapidly in a descent Versus us humans as we crawl The darkness surrounding us, internalised The irrational negativity, rationalised The absurd villainy, personified For how else are we to comprehend That every second of every day, someone meets their end Standing alone under the rainy sky With my hand on my soul, in a motion to rend Break free from the energy that subsides That which I believe to be Truly me He, who inside me resides Yearning one day to be set free And I refuse to let him go And he really doesn't wish to stay But it's only he who knows How to comfort me when I am afriad And it is only me who knows How to keep his thoughts straight Alone we're nothing, together we're great Yet alone we're in comfort, and together we're confused A paradox personified, the question of youth Alone yet together, apart yet one piece Atoning forever, far and yet near Two pieces of a soul, s...
